Viola Dickinson
Catlin, Ill. - Viola Dickinson, 76, of 508 N. Sandusky, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 6, 1987) at her residence.
Her hobbies were babysitting for her great-grandchildren, fishing, dancing, crocheting and growing plants. She was a member of the Catlin American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
She was born in Illinois, daughter of Charles and Mary Helen Engleman. She married Ernest Dickinson in Catlin on April 1, 1929. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1968. Survivors: a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Haworth of Catlin; two grandchildren, Robert Jones and Christie Collins, both of Catlin; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Otis Engleman and Elba Engleman, both of Catlin, William Engleman of South Bend, Ind., and Ernest Engleman of Danville; a sister, Edna Finney of Rochester, Ind. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chet Engleman and a son, Ernest Charles.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Barrick & Son Guardian Chapel; Officiating: Terry Edele; Burial: Jones Grove Cemetery in Catlin; Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
