*John Butler, 62, of Tilton, Dies
Conducted Meat Market In Village For Almost Half Century
John Butler, 62, a native and life resident of Tilton, died at Lake View hospital at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening following an illness of a week, during which he had been bedfast. He suffered from a heart ailment and had been in poor health since Christmas.
Mr. Butler, who had owned and operated a meat market in Tilton for more than forty years, was born Oct. 23, 1870, the son of William F. and Rosa Geisinger Butler. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Ida Songer Butler; five brothers, William F., Joseph, Samuel, Charles and Edward, all of Tilton; four sisters, Mrs. Frances Russell, Mrs. Charlotte Gladen, Mrs. Minnie Moran, all of Tilton, and Mrs. Rosa Tway, Colorado Springs, Colo. There were no children.
Mr. Butler was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for many years.
The body was removed to the Berhalter funeral home and will be taken to the residence Sunday. No funeral arrangements have been completed.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the pastor of the Tilton Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.
