Assistant Postmaster Dies at 58
 William M. Briggs, 58, of 1633 Gilbert, the assistant postmaster of the Danville Post Office, was dead on arrival at Lake View Memorial about 8:30 p.m. yesterday (March 30, 1967) after being stricken ill at the wheel of his auto. The car coasted to a stop without striking anything.
 He had not been ill, Corner Ralph Sargent attributed death to natural causes.
                                 Life Resident
 Mr. Briggs was a life resident of Danville. He had been employed at the post office for 31 years and has been assistant postmaster the past year and one-half. He was formerly assistant superintendent of mails.
 Born June 8, 1908, in Danville, he was a son of Robert R. and Alice M. Derringer Briggs.
 He was married Dec. 29, 1929, in Covington, Ind., to Mildred Watkins, who survives.
                                Survivors Named
 Also surviving are a son, Philip, a teacher at South View Junior High School; his father, Robert R. Briggs of Danville, two brothers, Leo and Charles, both of Danville, and a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson of Georgetown.
 He was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Danville Camping Club and the National Association of Postal Supervisors.
 He was an Army veteran of World War II.
 The body is at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home where friends will be received 6-9 p.m. today. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Harvey Meckfessel officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
