Dies After Being Sick Nine Years

Mrs. Mary Ownes Edwards Had Long Been Cripple From Paralysis

Mrs. Mary Ownes Edwards, 74, died about 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hotsinpillar, of Grape Creek. She had been paralyzed for nine years. Death was due to complications of advanced age.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Wales, England, May 18, 1854. She came to this country 44 years ago and settled in Grape Creek. In 1872 she was married to David Owens. To this union were born five children, three of whom survive. Her second husband, William Edwards died 16 years ago. She was the daughter of John and Amelia Morris Puthro. (Misspelled ~ should be Prothero)
Surviving Mrs. Edwards are her daughter in Grape Creek, one son, Thomas, of Danville, and one other daughter, Mrs. J. W. Jones, also of Danville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Grape Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Parrish Cemetery there.
