Life Tilton Man, Ex-Coal Miner, Dead
Charles Butler
Following an extended illness Charles Butler, 73, a retired coal miner, died about 10:30 a.m. Friday, Mar. 27, 1942, at home of his sister, Mrs. Minnie Moran, 115 E. Fourth St., in Tilton where he went Thursday morning from his own home at 211 G. St. in Tilton.
Mr. Butler had resided in Tilton all his life. Son of William and Rose Giesinger Butler, he was born there Jan. 2, 1869. He retired from coal mining about 24 years ago. His wife, Elizabeth Hersinger Butler, preceded him in death in 1931.
Surviving are two brothers, Sam and Ed Butler, both of Tilton; and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Moran, Mrs. Fannie Russell, also of Tilton and Mrs. Ross Tway, Colorado Springs, Colo. An infant preceded him in death in addition to his wife.
The body is at Berhalter Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
