*James W. Miles
Oakwood- James W. Miles, 60, of Oakwood, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 7, 1971) in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been ill six years.
A native of Jamesburg and a life resident of Vermilion County, he was born June 21, 1910, the son of Charles W. and Ella Campbell Miles.
Mr. Miles was first married to Genevieve Davis. She died in 1938. In 1940 he married Mary Nash, and surviving from this marriage are two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Jerilyn) Peak of Oakwood and Mrs. David (Ella Marie) Miller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Miles was a member of Moose Lodge of Danville and had operated a tavern at 18 North Jackson for 23 years.
The body is at Johnson Funeral Home where visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ben W. Miller will officiate, with burial in Stearns Cemetery, north of Muncie.
