Charles A. Nolan
*Charles A. Nolan, 81, of Danville, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at VA Illiana Health Care System where he had been a patient almost one year.
He was born in Danville, Ill., to Omer and Gladys Nolan on Feb. 27, 1925. His dad died when he was 10 years old. He helped take care of his mother for several years. Chares' burial took place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. He married Frances Joan Nolan in 1947. They were married 52 years until her death in 1999. They had two daughters __________ and _____________. His parents preceded him in death, as well as a grandson, Shawn, his wife, Joan, and two great-grandsons.
He worked at Illinois Power for 46 years, mostly in the service department. He was a member of the American Legion, GAO Grotto, the Elks and the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his two daughters, four grandchildren: __________ and _________ of Decatur and _________ and __________ of Danville. He also has numerous great-grandchildren in Decatur and Danville.
He enjoyed eating lunch at the northern Dairy Queen with the owners. His order of fish, fries, and black coffee was almost a daily occurrence until his hospitalization at the VA. The staff in Building 101, wards 7 and 8 treated him with dignity and kindness.
