*Violet Mae Gruber
Tilton, Ill. - Violet Mae Gruber, 65, of 109 S. H St., died at 3:20 a.m. today (May 22, 1985) at Lakeview Medical Center. She had been a patient a day.
She was an apprentice pharmacist at Walgreens Drug Store in Danville and a member of the Tilton United Church of Christ.
Born Sept. 29, 1919, in Tilton, she was a daughter of Glen and Odessa Abernathy Davis. She married Wilbur Gruber Feb. 23, 1938, in Tilton. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Honn, Mrs. Bill (Janet) Wear and Mrs. Jerry (Jean) Alcorn all of Tilton; a sister, Mrs. Herschel (Beverly) Jones of TIlton; a brother, Merle Davis of Tilton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Tilton United Church of Christ. The Rev. Oren Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Songer Cemetery near TIlton. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home in Danville and an hour before services Friday at the church.
